Effect:

Manidipine can block both L-type and T-type calcium channels, dilate both the afferent and efferent arterioles of the glomerulus, and has a protective effect on the kidneys better than amlodipine.

Biological activity:

Manidipine2HCl (CV-4093) is the hydrochloride form of Manidipine. It is a calcium channel blocker with an IC50 of 2.6nM. It is commonly used clinically for anti-hypertension.
